Welcome to the Tech Prep

Articulation Page!

What is Articulation?

For the graduating high school student (and for some adult students at learning centers) articulated credit is a way to get a head-start on postsecondary training by earning credit toward a technical institute diploma or degree while still in high school.   A current articulation agreement with WDTI needs to be on file for that student’s school.  All courses listed on that articulation agreement are potentially  available to the student as articulated credit.

 FACTS ABOUT ARTICULATION

1.                  The student can receive full articulated credit at WDTI for certain courses taken in high school. For full articulation, the course(s) must be equal in content to the course taught at WDTI.  The student will receive full course credit toward graduation at WDTI does not pay tuition or fees for the articulated course(s).

2.                  The student can receive partial articulation/transfer credit for courses specified partial credit.  For courses where partial credit is awarded, the student must take the actual course at WDTI;  however, the student will receive a one (1) or two (2) credit scholarship toward the cost of the course.

3.                  To receive full or partial articulation/transfer credit, the student entering WDTI will have at least a B (3.0) average grade in the applicable course(s).

4.                  Articulation agreements are a portion of the nationwide Tech Prep Initiative and are administered locally by Tech Prep Coordinators.

5.                  Courses articulation through any South Dakota technical institute will be honored by the other institutes should the student choose to enroll at another institute.
